Sustainability

Committed to Sustainability

Now, more than any time before, the pressure is on the travel industry to really play its part in re-defining how all aspects of onboard service are delivered with every element scrutinised for its impact on the planet. Many airlines have pledged to become Net Zero by 2050 and with that goal in mind we as suppliers look for innovations in design, materials, and production methods to support more sustainable products.

We strive to continuously develop a range of products and concepts that will allow airlines to provide a more sustainable & innovative service.

How We Can Improve Our Future

Fewer Materials

Manufacturing using fewer materials and less energy. This protects resources and reduces emissions.

Easy to Recycle

Ensuring easy disassembly means using materials that are easy identified, reused or recycled.

Use of Biomaterials

Using a single type of material or a biodegradable material is best, whether natural or a derivative.

Long-Lasting

Shapes and sustainable materials should be long-lasting, maximising the useful life of the product.

Multipurpose

Products should have multiple uses, be suitable for reuse, and be manufactured with recycled materials.

Innovative

Technological innovations can optimise product efficiency and sustainability.

Aviation Sustainability Forum (ASF )

Plane Talking is an early member of the Aviation Sustainability Forum (ASF).

The ASF is a ‘not for profits’ collaborative partnership of competing stakeholders from across the aviation sector who have joined forces to build a more sustainable future for onboard service. Through research projects, collaborations, and partnerships the ASF will drive change in onboard products and services to help our sector meet Net Zero targets. We hope that our work will inform and influence both inflight service and waste management processes in the future. Our recent research paper is available now on our website.

The ASF is seeking like-minded partners to join us on this journey. If you want to help us drive sustainable change whilst also benefitting from the research, access to exclusive sustainability tools and data, networking opportunities and cost-saving initiatives – come and join us. The ASF is run by its membership for the benefit of its membership. To find out more or to join us please go to our website www.aviationsustainabilityforum.com

Scence & Plane Talking

Plane Talking Products are delighted to announce our exclusive partnership in aviation with 100% natural, vegan, plastic-free cosmetic brand Scence.

Scence’s ingredients are all-natural, nourishing and vegan. They have been working to balance and perfect their formulas which go hand in hand with their natural, eco-friendly packaging — more than recyclable, it’s 100% domestically compostable so they ensure that they aren’t adding to the single-use plastic problem in the world. They have spent several years working with a UK packaging supplier to develop their paper packaging with a unique push-up applicator design to keep your product fresh and easy to use.
